Taking a "paws" in breeding new litters until 2026 - moving to North Carolina!
Please email us at this.land.doodles@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
The "F" stands for "Filial", so the 1, 2 etc. indicates the number of generations of descent from an original parent generation.
An F1 Goldendoodle would be the first generation result of a cross between a Poodle and a Golden Retriever. An F1b would be the result of an F1 Goldendoodle bred to either a Poodle or a Golden Retriever. An F2 would be that F1 Goldendoodle bred to another F1 Goldendoodle.
Multigenerational is the term that Doodle breeders use to describe dogs from later generations. These later generations tend have more predictable outcomes in size, coat type, and many other traits.
The Goldendoodle Association of North America has a detailed article on this subject.
Two factors contribute to Doodle Coat types: Curl and Furnishings.
Curl - Doodle coats are either Curly (tight curls), Wavy (loose curls), or Straight.
Genetically, a curly Doodle will present as C/C, a wavy Doodle will present as C/- and a straight coated Doodle will present as -/-.
Furnishings - A Doodle with two furnishing genes or "fully furnished" will be almost non-shedding like Poodles, ideal for those with allergies; a Doodle with one furnishing gene will be low shedding; a Doodle with no furnishing genes will shed like the non-poodle breeds in their ancestry.
Furnishings are also responsible for the classic, adorable Doodle face with eyebrows and mustache/beard.
Our Ideal Coat - We breed for straight or wavy coats with full furnishings.
This coat makes a Doodle almost non-shedding and easier to groom, with eyebrows, mustache, and beard, and offers maximum benefit to those with allergies.
Part of the fun in breeding Doodles is that the Poodle background offers so many different coat patterns and colors. We enjoy working with a variety, so this answer may be updated pretty frequently!
At this time, we expect our litters to have black, chocolate, cream, apricot, gold, or red, with solid, parti, or other patterning.
Doodles are generally recognized in four sizes.
Petite - Under 25 pounds
Miniature - 26 - 35 pounds
Medium - 36 - 50 pounds
Standard - 51 pounds and up
We focus on Petite Goldendoodles and Golden Cavapoos with a goal size of 10 to 20 pounds.
Our Doodles are perfect for any size home from a studio apartment on up.
Indoors: they are small enough to use a dog potty tray if needed.
Outdoors: they are sturdy, athletic companions and eager to join in all your activities.
We follow the guidelines of these dog welfare, health and breeding organizations:
ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals)
CDP (The Companion Dog Project)
FDC (The Functional Dog Collaborative)
GANA (The Goldendoodle Association of North America)

Long story short - it is not possible to responsibly breed healthy, happy and high quality dogs on the cheap.
Check out our blog post on the subject: The Cost of Breeding.
Always look into what you're NOT getting for a lower price (and also make sure that if you're paying a higher price, you are getting everything you should!)
Take a look at our Health Warranty and Health Disorder Testing. Ask yourself, and any breeder you're considering: do they meet this level of quality and support for a comparable price?

Yes! (Please note that home visits are on hold until after our move in 2026)
We encourage you to visit, in person if possible, or through a live facetime tour if you aren't able to travel to us.
We believe that visiting our home and property, meeting us and our dogs, and getting a first hand view of how we raise and treat our dogs is your absolute right as a puppy parent. Your family and ours are partners in this adventure!
We recommend caution if a breeder will not allow you to visit - the stated reasons are usually "health" or "security".
These are valid concerns, and as responsible breeders we must take precautions for the health and safety of our dogs and our families, while at the same time providing transparency to our future puppy parents.
At This Land Delightful Doodles, we accomplish this with our professional standards of cleaning and disinfecting and our home and property security measures, plus established positive relationships with our wonderful neighbors and local police department.
By meeting our adult dogs you get a preview of how your puppy will grow up to look and behave.
An in-person visit is also a great way to protect yourself from online puppy selling scams where the scammer doesn't even have dogs - just stolen videos and photos they post online.
If you live too far from our home to visit in person, we are glad to offer a live facetime chat with a full tour so you can see the dog areas of our home and property, "meet" us and our dogs virtually and ask any questions.
YES! Please take a look at YouTube (search Doodle Grooming at Home) for some great tutorials.
Generally speaking, you will need to brush and comb your Doodle each day - if you stick to this schedule, petite Doodles will take you about 10 to 20 minutes per day to fully brush and comb, clean ears and eyes as needed, do any mini-trims (sanitary area, around eyes), and trim nails as needed.
Daily grooming will keep your Doodle's coat and skin healthy. If you skip too many days, you'll see in a hurry why that's a bad idea.
About once every 6 weeks you'll need to bathe and give your Doodle a full trim with clippers and/or scissors, or you can take them to a groomer.
If you love Doodles but don't love daily grooming, you can always choose to keep them in a very short clip with more frequent trimming appointments - talk to your groomer about the best schedule and coat length to keep your Doodle mat-free.
Smaller dogs often produce excess tears compared to their bigger cousins.
The main reason for this is harmless to the dogs - smaller dogs frequently have shallower eye sockets because of a more rounded head shape, which increases tear production.
Some other reasons can include face hair needing trimming to keep it from brushing against the eyes, seasonal allergies, or eye injury (please see your veterinarian).
We use and recommend a mild eye cleansing wipe each day during grooming to keep your Doodle's eyes clear and comfortable.
Absolutely!
We offer Puppy Training Packages for two to four weeks (from age 8 weeks to 12 weeks) for puppies from our litters.
We also offer a variety of training & boarding/daycare services for any Doodle purchased from us.
(Please note: These services are on hold until after our move in 2026)
We feed an 80/10/10 raw food diet with appropriate supplements to all of our Doodles, starting when they are 3 to 4 weeks old.
Their main diet is 80% muscle meat, 10% organ meat, and 10% raw meaty bones. We provide a variety of proteins to cover nutritional needs.
We add nutritionally beneficial toppers that contribute to our dogs' overall health - including oily fish, eggs, plain yogurt, goat milk, and pumpkin. We add a small amount of natural Vitamin E oil each week.
We avoid grains and legumes, which are unnecessary fillers and can be harmful to a dog's health.
If you would like to feed raw but don't have time to make your own mix, or are worried you won't get the correct ratios, we give our highest recommendation to BJ's Raw Pet Food - they have fully balanced ready to serve raw patties in a variety of proteins for your Doodle, with good prices, free shipping, and excellent service.
If you prefer to feed partially or entirely kibble, we recommend Stella & Chewy grain and legume free options.
